Poor workmanship and empty promises
My experience went over a full month. Scope of the work was
- replace worn wooden coping with 2 rows of tiles around a pool - epoxy, paint and repair cracks - change filter sand and controls - remove old steel fence
The owner, Chris O Neill, asked for a R2500 booking fee, half the jobs money upfront and that the work would take 4-5 days to complete.
It took a month and the standard is so poor that I am busy spending more money with another contractor to finish. Issues encountered
- pool coping laid unlevel. Was redone numerous times - workers used the toilet and left it in a mess. Sies! - rubble left behind - unfinished painting on area between coping and mosaics - brand new pavers covered in cement. Can't even see the original colour (charcoal). - paint in the pool has sharp edges. Needs to be smoothed down - damaged brooms. Company doesn't bring his own brooms, buckets, garden house. - spoke about warranty that it should last 5-10 years. No warranty certificate or other documents received - after painting workers didn't return for a couple of days. What happened to the masking tape? It is stuck all around the pool. Solution by the company was to fill the pool with water to soften it. Guess what - it didn't work!
Overall it took over a month to get to this point and such a waste. Poor management and no quality in any aspect of the work done - well the sand was replaced and control arms on the filter are OK.
Stay away from Chris O Neil and his company called Pool Epoxy and Renovations
