At one stage you could replace the worn out gear shaft of the Pentair dominator pool cleaner, but no longer, unless you buy the whole expensive maintenance kit. This is extremely un-user-friendly, and for this reason alone, I will buy a different make of pool cleaner henceforth. I can think of no reason for this decision other than greed. A great pity, since it is a good product when the gear is still working.)

I refer to the above message I sent you in December, to which I received a reply (thankyou very much), but that didn't solve my problem.

I would now like to offer a useful tip in this regard, in case it helps similarly frustrated consumers - which is that for many months I have been able to prolong the life of this pool cleaner by carefully winding gorilla tape around the worn out end of the gear shaft. The tape does need replacing every few weeks, sometimes even months! but the machine works like new again.
