Dishonest behavior

I started swimming last year in May 2024 with Pool Academy. On the 02 Feb 2025 I went to the venue and the gates were barbed wired with no communication of no classes. The Neighbours of the school in Westville saw me standing there confused and said they told the lady to message the students 2 weeks ago because even yesterday and during the week people were coming and there are no lessons because the school closed down at the end of December 2024 for ownership issues.

They still took money for January lessons knowing full well that they will not be able to fulfill those lessons. From the 11, 19, 26 Jan lessons were cancelled due to pool maintenance. On the 13 Feb they cancelled lessons until further notice. In March when the pool was opened again, they didn't inform me about it but started marking me absent on the class card app.

I gave notice on the 18 Jan 2025 when they sent the re registration notice for May as I knew I only wanted to dedicate a year to learning this skill. I did not pay any of the other months because I didn't use us January lesson yet. Now I am being threatened with being handed over to the Sheriff's office as I am supposed to pay 2 months de registration fee or pay immediate R300. This message was not given to me when I placed notice in January.

Very dishonest administration and I told the lady I didn't want to be unkind to you or your business that's why I handed it privately with her first, but this is too much. You cannot be offering R50 lessons for black Friday specials and expect the rest to fit the bill. I am waiting to be handed over to the Sheriff's office as I have kept all the evidence from our communication. I have also reported them to Wendy Knowler and the CPA. I Can afford to pay the R300 but this is about principle.

Having said that the coaches are amazing and that's why I dealt with whatever issues there were, also their service was okay in the beginning.

Points to note also: If you are taking your child, they follow the timing for the heater for winter so sometimes we were swimming in freezing water and in storms. The pool was green on my second last lesson, but my coach said it was okay. The change rooms are not so clean.
