STAY AWAY OR KISS YOUR DEPOSIT GOODBYE!!

Stay far, far AWAY from this place if you want to see your deposit again. I moved into a place 2 years ago and completed my lease agreement. I paid them a total of R8500 deposit. After the exit inspection they now want to charge me almost R1500 to replace 3 x light bulbs and tighten a tap in the bathroom. The tap was loose when I moved in and on their own entry inspection they mention that there are 2 light bulbs in the bedroom, one working, one faulty and one missing, still they want to charge me for that. Then they want to charge me over a R1000 to clean the garage, rubble that was left there when they did the kitchen renovation before I moved in. I made arrangements on the Monday to meet with them that same week on the Thursday at the premises to proof to them that the lights in the bedroom is working, they then went the very next day, even though we had an arrangement to meet and "fixed / cleaned" everything that was not even faulty. These people do not want to listen when you have a dispute. Needless to say all and all they want to keep half my deposit, which I do not agree with. They just ignore you and do not offer you the opportunity to dispute or rectify the so called problems. They have their own maintenance team, for what that's worth and charge EXCESSIVE fees just not to pay out your deposit. I have now taken the next step and opened a case at the housing tribunal and my my lawyers (legalwise) to get back my deposit. Stay away from them as far as you can, these people didn't even know how much deposit I paid them, I had to send proof op their invoice and my payment just to have that rectified. NEVER will they see me again, only in court.
