Fitness watch not working as advertised

I bought the polaroid active watch and the message function was not working and the km were out with about a km I went to exchange it and the message and call function still didnt work but I left it there. I went swimming with the swim function it has and its said the watch is splash proof I wasnt even in the pool for 5 minutes and the watch stopped working. Clearly not splash proof
