Polar heart rate monitors should be flatlined....

Polar sells heart rate monitor equipment as a premium product but to me is nothing but a get rich scheme with poor products.

Take the heart rate monitor T31 - you are expected to pay R800 for the strap. Little do you know that there is no way to replace the battery and then when it runs out you are expected to buy another strap for R800 again. The battery that runs the strap is nothing more than a lithium 2032 battery which costs no more than R16. Consumers are being ********** bearing in mind a full watch and strap accessory with changeable batteris can be bought for R500 watch and all and works just as well.

Polar will say - you can buy another strap with changeable batteries at R1500 odd, but they do not tell you that the strap they have designed perishes after 1 year and has to be bought at a price of R600 - we are no on our 3rd strap under this regime....

What ever happened to making premium products that actually last and Polar coming from Finland should be ashamed of themselves.

I will never buy a Polar product again in my life and I tried to use the product for over 10 years - what a con....
