POLARAIR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I had a Hisense 18000btu air-conditioner which worked perfectly with the exception of the display board which kept flickering for no reason. The unit was 4 years old.

Hisense recommended a company in KZN POLARAIR to repair the display unit to stop the flickering. POLARAIR stated that the display board can't be fixed and the PC boards should be replaced as this was causing the issue. I was told that it would take 2 months to come as they would need to order it. Two months passed and still no PC boards. I was then told that the PC boards are unavailable and they recommend changing it to universal PC boards. This change costed me a significant amount of money and was something I regret paying for.

The universal boards were installed and the unit was completely faulty after that. There was no display board to tell me the temperature at all. The fan was stuck on maximum which affected my sinuses severely due to no control of the fan speed. The aircon flap returned to a full open position when the unit was switched off. If the swing function is used the flap closes completely and opens repeatedly which is evidence that the wiring was done wrong.

My grandfather questioned the "technician" as to why the flap remains open when the unit is off. The technicians reply was that it would allow more air to come out of the unit. As someone with a postgraduate qualification I can officially say that this is the most absurd statement I have come across in my life.

I find it appalling that this company take advantage of the elderly by trying to manipulate them due to their lack of technical knowledge.

POLARAIR was supposed to return and fix this issue last year 2019 however to date this has not been done!!

I eventually lost hope with this company and had to fork out R16000 to have my aircon replaced. The unit was replaced by KWA ZULU AIR who did a fantastic job and exceeded my expectations.
