Point S Turbo Tyres Polokwane

On the 24/08/2018 I bought a Michelin 225/40 R18 Tyre for R3066.50 at Point S Turbo Tyre Polokwane, The tyre was dirty suggesting it had been sitting for a long time

I didn’t make much of it at the time(huge mistake), I drove out and parked about 2 km away from the shop, and about 45min later it was flat.

Went back they opened it and found a crack clearly starting from the inside, no sign of mechanical damage on the outside.

I was told the owner by the name of Werk Botman (or something like that) is not available, he will come back next week, I must come back when he is back.

I called back on the 27th & 28th (Monday& Tuesday) and was told the guy will be back in the morning (Wednesday)

Patiently I waited and finally got hold of the owner(Werk) He told me that he inspected the tyre and the damage is mechanical, I ran over “something”, they are sorry, it is unfortunate for me but there is nothing he can do for me.

He further went on to say when the supplier comes to make a delivery, they will also ask their them to have a look, but the damage does not fall within warranty, I must buy a new tyre.

At this stage I was obviously feeling hard done and I indicated that the damage would have been more on the outside if it was mechanical, and their theory makes no sense as there is a larger crack on the inside of the tyre.

I was told that if I held a different view, I must bring my certificate in tyre inspection.

To me that was Arrogant and Unprofessional, for someone who paid over R3000 for defective goods, I expected a better reaction.

So if you are looking for tyre replacements. Point S Turbo Tyre Polokwane are the shop to avoid.
