Incredibly ***** and appalling service

On the 28th March2017 I bought a Samsung 32 inch Tv from POCO megastore in Sandown road for R3000. I had the TV about a month and it stopped and so I returned because they have ....a return policy at POCO.

They were initially very understanding as they gave me another TV, which I assumed was new. Then on the 24 th of May, the apparently new second TV also stopped working and I went through the same process of returning it to POCO.

The second TV did not even make it to one month and this time around, I was told that they would have to contact the supplier to have the TV tested, and checked.

I waited to hear from POCO for a while, then I decided to call them and spoke to Esmeralda, who told me that a technician from Samsung named Edward was there to pick up the TV. Edward advised me that the TV would not be covered under the warranty because of infestation to which I asked ,has he tested the TV already and he blatantly claimed there was no need to test it.

He claimed he already knew what was wrong with the TV, the LCD was dead, and that would need to be replaced. I'm not sure which super technical institution he graduated from, where you are taught to just look at appliances and give such conclusions. Bravo Edward!!!

Anyway after 2 weeks without a TV, I received a call from Esmeralda on the 07th June, who told me Samsung informed her that to fix the TV would cost R4500 even though I bought the TV for R3000. Can someone please let me know where is the logic in thatn meaning I am actually buying this 32inch TV for R7500, which might also work for only a month or less.

I asked Esmeralda to ask Samsung to return the TV, which she told me it has already been returned to the store.

I find quite a few things confusing with this whole story.

1. Edward as Samsung technician initially claimed that the TV was not working because it was infested. How can you determine that without opening the TV to begin with.

2. Our super hero technician then claimed that there was no need to test the TV because he already knew what the problem was (LED is dead).

3. He already confirmed that it will not be covered under Samsung's Warranty so why take it to Samsung.

This makes me draw my own conclusions:

1. POCO is selling old TVS and make them to seem like they are new, why would you explain that they only work for a month or less.

2. Edward is not a Samsung technician, he is probably one of POCO's employees as well.

3. I had a Samsung 40 inch TV before which has been working for more than 3 years and it was in the same apartment with no infestation problems before I gave it away.

4. Maybe these are not even Samsung TVS just some dummy Samsung knock offs that POCO is selling.

5. Samsung has a 1 year warranty on this TV, so I only had it for less than a month which means someone here is not living to their end of the bargain. I'm just not sure who it is.

All I want is a brand new TV which can be confirmed by a certified technician that it has new parts in it. I am not paying more money for this TV, I have my receipt I already paid the full amount for it.
