Think twice before you buy

I am a watercolour artist and have been painting for over 20 years. Over the years, I have used many different types of watercolour paper. About four months ago, I bought Prime Art Cotton Blend 300gsm watercolour paper at PNA, Castle Gate. Unfortunately, I recently discovered that the paper is completely unusable for me. It absorbs water and paint in a way that makes it behave more like blotting paper than proper watercolour paper. This is the first time in over 20 years that I have encountered such a problem with watercolour paper. I reported the issue to the store. The manager was helpful and recommended that the paper be returned so it could be tested. However, my problem is that I no longer have the sales slip, nor do I currently have transport to take the paper back to the store. I am posting this message not to make unfounded accusations against anyone, but to alert fellow artists and advise them to think twice before purchasing this product.
