Store refuse to exchange a bag that is still under warranty

I would like to raise a complaint for how The Glen PNA handled the issue I had with my son's backpack which I bought early February 2017 and its torn at the moment.I lost my cash slip and they feel that they cannot help me as I do not have proof of purchase. Is this really fair? This backpack still has got a barcode surely they can use to see when this backpack was sold.I am very disappointed and I plan on taking this to Consumer Rights as my rights has been violated if this doesn't get resolved by close of business today.
