playmoregolf refuses to stop debit orders after termination of membership
I have been a member of playmoregolf for a few years now. Whilst I worked in Sandton, I regularly went to the Woodmead driving range to practice after work. Last year during hard lock down (alert level 5, due to covid), because we were not allowed to leave our homes for quite a long period of time, I decided to terminate my membership as it made no sense to keep paying R688,00 (six hundred and eighty eight rand) a month during these times when you are unable to get any value for it, besides, I felt it would make much more sense to use that money to support needy families at our church. After struggling for quite some time to stop the debit orders, even resorting to getting hold of FNB to assist me in blocking these debit orders, I finally got them to agree that my membership had been terminated, in fact, when I once visited the driving range afterwards, as proof that my membership was terminated, I was asked to tap my bank card before I could enter. It is now half way into the new year and they are still debiting my account. If I don not draw a bank statement every month and check, they just happily keep deducting R688/month off my account. Surely this should now be deemed **********, especially since I have written confirmation that my membership has been terminated....!!! How does a so-called professional organisation keep doing this?
