Playground Safety

They approached us and other schools in the area telling us we need to get them to inspect the playground equipment as they find South Africa's equipment in a shocking state. They claimed to have us , the schools, best interest at heart as we will not be able to lay claim to our public liability cover if they are not up to standard. They also claim that children and the safety their safety to be their passion.

They wanted money upfront and offered to make a file up for us - even though I stated I already had a safety file- he insisted and said then he can rest assured it was all in order.

I had to fight for two months for him to issue me with a report, dealing with both Jan and JP. JP would just say its not his division of the company his main focus is the construction. Jan would ignore e mails and phone calls. Even went as far as to change his e mail address.

he eventually issued me with a report with a list as long as my arm to fix, 99% of it was done already as he had communicated some of the issues telepathically. He then agreed to come by and do a final inspection. He said he would send me the final report. it is now a month later and still no report.

I got my lawyer involved and he promised to meet with her, staying true to his nonchalant attitude, he postpones the meeting .

If you are going to listen to them they will give you a run around, they don't have a clue what they are doing and the whole experience will leave you feeling frustrated as well as cost a lot more money than you anticipated on legal fees to get your written report giving your playground the all clear.
