Play.co.za *********

Le play.co.za is not holding up their end when it comes to responsible gambling. They are in encouraging the surging problem that we have in this country of gambling addiction. I have on several occasions requested that my account with them to be permanently locked and I have pleaded with them to lock my account so that I do not get access even upon request. However I relapsed and I was able to regain access to my betting account on request. The agents will always say that up until they receive a self-exclusion application from the WCGRB play cannot permanently lock my account and I can always request to have the account active. No matter how much I emphasized that I have a gambling problem it would always respond by telling me that they cannot permanently lock my account. I have made such a request on other betting platforms and they did not hesitate to lock me out and I have not regained access to those accounts upon request. play.co.za is not in support of responsible gambling instead they look to make profit out of problematic gamblers by allowing them onto their platforms. Even when they have requested for the account to be permanently closed. I hope that this out cry will make play.co.za reflect on their terms and conditions when it comes to responsible gambling and act ethically and be considerate to people's well-being and not chase profit out of people's misery.

Dear Ndumiso,

Thank you for reaching out and for your honesty in sharing your experience. At Play.co.za, your well-being is our utmost priority. I am truly sorry for any frustration or distress this situation has caused you.

Your Play.co.za account was closed as per your most recent request, and it has remained closed since that time. If you require confirmation of your account status at any point, or if you need documentation to support your self-exclusion application with the WCGRB, please let us know and we will provide this promptly.

Self-Exclusion Support
While we offer temporary and permanent self-exclusion options, please note that for a permanent, non-reversible exclusion, South African law requires that an official self-exclusion application be lodged directly with the Western Cape Gambling & Racing Board (WCGRB). Once the WCGRB processes your application, all access to Play.co.za (and other licensed operators) will be blocked, and this cannot be reversed—even on your request.

How to Apply for Official Self-Exclusion:Our support team can also assist you in submitting your application to the WCGRB if you need any guidance through the process.

Additional Responsible Gambling Tools
We also offer:
  • Deposit limits (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Temporary “cooling-off” periods
