Money Making Scheme... Extremely Poor Service!!!
I recently booked in my acer Laptop as instructed from Telkom. A black spot appeared while work on my laptop. I went to the Telkom store and they gave me instructions how to book in my laptop. Platinum Warranty phoned me to indicate a crack on the screen which i still not see and the crack is causing the black spot. They gave a quote of almost R4000 which is a price of a new laptop. Ive asked platinum Warranty to proof it is physical damage and they couldn't. I rejected the quote because they are trying to make money and because i rejected the quote i had to pay R625 for basically doing nothing. After receiving my laptop after 3 weeks or more i open the laptop just to find my right click button is suddenly faulty and i spotted a black spot on top of the screen as well and im asking myself again how can this be physical damage!!! I immediately phone Telkom to report the case. I went for a second opinion about the screen. According to the technician the screen is faulty and there is no such thing as a crack. Platinum calls everything physical damage because it is a opportunity to make money instead of fixing the device.
