The world would be a better place without Platinum Life

Platinum Life, the infamous telemarketing company, has been plaguing people with unwanted and annoying calls for far too long. In my opinion, their constant interruptions and high-pressure sales tactics are nothing short of harassment.

Let's be clear: no one wants to receive unsolicited calls from telemarketers. Yet Platinum Life seems to think it's perfectly acceptable to pester people at all hours of the day and night, often with the same tired s**** about their supposed "amazing" products and services.

Their sales pitches are often aggressive and misleading, designed to manipulate people into making impulse purchases that they may not even need or want. It's no wonder that so many people have taken to blocking their numbers or simply ignoring their calls altogether.

What's particularly galling about Platinum Life is their persistence. Even if you tell them that you're not interested, they'll keep calling and calling, as if they believe that eventually you'll cave and buy something from them. It's a disrespectful and insulting approach that only serves to alienate potential customers.

If Platinum Life wants to stay in business, they need to stop calling people and start respecting their privacy. They should focus on building relationships with customers based on trust and transparency, rather than using high-pressure sales tactics to try to force people into buying things they don't want.

In short, Platinum Life needs to clean up its act or risk being relegated to the dustbin of history. No one likes a pushy salesperson, and it's time for Platinum Life to realize that their approach is simply not effective or acceptable in today's world.

Dear Kaden,

Thank you for reaching out to us to express your concerns. We appreciate the opportunity to investigate the matter in order to provide you with feedback.

Our records show that you were contacted once for a promotional gift and after expressing to us that you are not interested, your lead was marked as closed. As this is the only record we have, we’d be grateful if you could provide us with other dates and times you were contacted so we may address these concerns with the relevant management teams. It is never our intention or practice to harass or annoy anyone.

Platinum Life has been part of the industry for the last 22 years and in that time, our growth has been prolific and we’ve built a business and a brand that we are very proud of, as is evident in our HP rating as well as the many client testimonials on our website www.platinumlife.co.za. As this is a regulated industry, I can assure you, all our practices are in strict compliance with the FSCA policy and rules. Additionally, CRM is of the utmost importance to us and our approach to this is guided by our founding principles of absolute integrity and pride in product. This is supported by the Millions of Rands in claims we pay out each year and in so doing, we help change lives for the better.

We are truly sorry for any inconvenienced caused. We’ll await your response, either on this platform or using the contact details listed on our website, in order to conclude our investigation. In the interim, we will add your details to our ‘do not contact’ list. This will ensure that no further communication is initiated from our side.

Kind Regards

Reviewer Update
Dear Simone
Thank you for your prompt but scripted response, I can assure you it has not addressed by concern/issue that I’ve taken the time to express in my initial review, let me tell you why.
The purpose of my review was to illuminate the unacceptable and relentless behaviour of your call centre agent(s) and hopefully attract some recourse or accountability for such behaviour.
I took offense to the numerous, daily calls received from Platinum Life which I had repeatedly declined with the intention to avoid time wasted with both parties, respectfully.
That said, kindly indicate where the FSCA policy and rules state it to be acceptable to relentlessly contact a person three times a day, everyday for a duration of two weeks until they inevitably answer the invasive call?
Unfortunately, at this time, my call log only displays three calls on Wednesday and three calls on Thursday along with their respective times of which I can make available should it be necessary.
Secondly, would you also be so kind as to explain how your investigation did not pick up or track these abovementioned outgoing call attempts made by your agent(s) from different numbers.
If you were truly sorry for any inconvenienced caused then I’m quite certain your policies and rules would prohibit your agents from harassing clients to this extent, especially since this cannot be the first case in your 22 years of experience in the industry. I’m also of the opinion that there would be strict oversight, at least internally ensuring these policies are adhered to unless this behaviour is implored.
Just out of interest, what is the agents acceptable process should one repeatedly decline calls received from Platinum Life? You’re welcome to email me directly should you not be comfortable sharing such detail on this public forum.
Platinum Life needs to ensure their staff strictly follow these policies and rules and if not, should be held accountable for their actions in cases like these.
Looking forward to a less scripted and more appropriate response.
Regards,
Kaden Craayenstein

Dear Mr Damon,

I apologise, but it seemed to me, from your initial complaint, that you had spoken to our agents several times and you had advised that you were not interested, therefore we investigated your contact with our agents rather than the number of times we attempted to contact you. Our concern being that your numerous requests not to be contacted had gone unanswered. I again apologise for this misunderstanding.

Further investigation into this matter showed that we did attempt to contact you several times and as soon as you advised you were not interested, this was noted on our system and all calls stopped accordingly. As mentioned previously you have also been added to our ‘do not contact’ list to ensure that you are not contacted in the future, should you be nominated again.

To address your concerns around our compliance with regulation, POPIA, and by extension the FSCA, does allow a responsible party the opportunity of approaching a data subject, with the purpose of obtaining the needed consent for marketing of their product. You are however, in no way obligated to exchange any information or agree to anything.

I do hope that I have addressed your concerns correctly however if you have any further questions, I’ll be happy to discuss them with you.

Kind Regards
