Sounds suspicious...

I have received numerous calls from Platinum Life over the last few months and today when I did answer, I was told that I have been referred by a friend and that I should expect free gift soon. The person asked me for my ID number, name of my bank I bank with and what type of account I have. I gave the details to the person but now regret that I did. I have read many bad reviews that Platinum Life deducted funds (one was R700) from people's accounts. I cannot have this happen to me and would rather cancel my free gift please. Why do you need my ID number and bank name and type of account for me to receive a free gift? Sounds suspicious!

Dear Desiree,

I have received your review and would like to provide more information regarding our referral process

Please note that we do give our policy holders the chance to nominate friends and family for a promotional gift. The gift is optional and cost free and serves as a way to provide more information about who we are and what we do.

As part of the gift, we do send out a guide on efficient banking and how to save using the account you have. We will not ask for your bank account number but simply the type of account to ensure that you receive information relevant to you. Your ID number is asked as it is a unique number, can be used to track your gift and ensure that no duplicates are sent out.

I have arranged for your details to be removed from the system and added to our do not contact list. Nothing will be sent out to you

You are welcome to contact our team on ***for any further assistance

Kind Regards
