*******!!!
I had a policy for almost 4 years and want to cancel because i cant afford it any longer. See email response below which wasn't explained upon taking out the policy! So i just lost all my premiums and is not getting a cent back???
Thank you for your email. Your policy is a risk product and if you choose to cancel your benefits, there would be no money paid out on cancellation. Your policy will pay out should you submit a successful claim or, if after 20 years, your policy is still active and claim free, you will receive 50% of the total premiums paid as a refund.“At the money-back date of the policy the money-back lump sum shall be payable to the policyholder provided that: No claims as contemplated 4 and 5 above have been paid by the insurer in terms of the policy; he policy has remained in force throughout the money-back period. The policy has been in force for at least 20 (twenty) years. The money-back lump sum shall be calculated on refundable premiums only. In calculating the money-back lump sum, no account shall be taken of any interest or other increase which may have been earned in respect of any refundable premiums received by the insurer. The money-back lump sum will only be paid on or after the money-back date.”

Best regards,
Dear Nawaal,
My attempts in getting in contact with you telephonically have been unsuccessful.
I have investigated the matter and would like to provide you with some feedback.
I have sent you an email with feedback as well, including the conversation between you and Monica on the 30th of August 2017. In this call, Monica discusses the cancellation of your policy. She advises that all our policies are pure risk (as you did not go for any blood tests) and that you cannot phone in to reactivate your policy and she offers a smaller premium as alternative as this policy has been in force since 2013.
I have also gone through all the email correspondence between you and Monica, where the freezing option was offered to you. In the emails Monica also advises how the freezing option works and that sales might contact you within 6-12 months. This timeframe is given as we cannot exactly determine when you will be phoned or after how long. You may still be contacted for a reactivation, but we cannot reinstate on clients requests with this type of cover as was explained to you.
Please note however, all our policies are pure risk cover, which means that there is no cash or surrender value on any of our policies.
You are welcome to contact me directly on *** and I will be more than happy to assist you with anything else.
Kind regards,
