Platinum Life preying on varsity students

These people are forceful. I told them I don’t want their policy because I’m a student and can not afford. Please note they called me 2 years back when I was doing first year in varsity and I naively gave them my banking details they said they would not take anything from my account until I agreed to the policy, so they have my banking details. I found out as soon as they hang up it means you agreed to the policy, my parents helped me out of it. Now 2 year later they call me again. The sales rep went on to tell me she just needs to tell me about the changes. I was nice enough to let her go on and I still maintained I will not take the policy I can’t afford it. I let her talk and now I received a package with the policy saying it’s active and will start charging on 1st April 2020. I’ve asked them to cancel that policy on 19th March when I received it, they are delaying the process (obviously to reach the effective date). Platinum Life is preying on students who are naive and don’t understand how these things work.

Dear Neo,

I have received your review and I am sorry to hear about the experience you had.

Kindly note that we received your cancellation request via email and our cancellation team has been trying to get a hold of you for the legal closure. All debit orders are stopped when a cancellation is received and nothing will be deducted from your account.

I am also requesting the calls that were made to you regarding the policy, to follow up on what was said and if the sale was valid. I will gladly send this through via email.

You are more than welcome to give me a call if there is anything we can assist with

Kind Regards
