Platinum Life / GUARDLIFE ****
I, André Leon Bezuidenhout; ID number ***, hereby confirm the following: That I did not agree, in writing or telephonically, to the Platinum Life Policy No: ***0 nor the unsolicited Debit Order; No: INSURE PLAC*** of R341.46.
Case: I received call from a sales executive. This person advised that he was calling from Platinum Life as referred by a friend and I have ”won” a free prize. After a debate on ‘strings attached’ and the sales person confirmed me that there were none, and that the gift was purely because I took the time to listen. They offered me a policy that I declined up front. There was also a free policy that had no strings attached that lasted a few months cover. Somehow, they way wangled my bank details out of me, and, the voice recording will reflect/prove that I queried this a number of times and also that they assured me that my bank details were for “verification” purposes only. THEY ASSURED ME THAT I WOULD FIRST HAVE TO AUTHORISE ANY DEBIT ORDER BEFORE THEY WILL OR MAYPROCEED. I received a free gift that is still in my cupboard, unopened. Then came the pestilence barrage of phone calls, the more I refused, the more I was harassed. One of the sales exec’s asked me if I want a R1000 and proceeded to ORDER me to “open up my contacts” and choose 5 friends. I refused, letting him know that I do NOT give out personal numbers of friends, this for moral, ethical and POPI act reasons. (POPI ACT???? He should not be asking me in the first place). After my refusal he pushed with his sales agenda by asking me if I don’t want R1000. I let him know that it’s not about the money and that it’s a principle issue and that I can’t be bought. Fast forward, last month they deducted the above amount from my bank account for a policy that I never wanted or agreed to. The Debit order is set up that I cannot Stop or Reverse in on my Banking app. This is obviously deliberate as you would have many, many unsuspecting victims stopping and reversing your illicit plundering. PLATINUM How dare you violate my private bank account by going in and deviously, **********ly and *********ly *****ing MY money. Your PLATINUM call centre’s operation is NO different to any of the online Cyber ******** that are out there and are based in call centres in India, Nigeria and the likes. NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL. Platininum Life, you have the reference details above, you have the amount, you clearly have my bank details. YOU DO NOTHAVE ME, OR ANYONE AROUND ME’S BUSINESS.
ADDED, I DO NOT WANT LONG WIDED, TO AND FRO, COMMUNICATIONS WHERE I HAVE TO JUMP THROUGH RED TAPE HOOPS TO GE GET MY OWN MONEY BACK. MONEY THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN TAKEN IN THE FIRST PLACE
PLEASE, KEEP IT SIMPLE, PAY BACK THE MONEY.
I have received your review and we are currently investigating this matter on our side
All calls have been requested to follow up on the sale and the manner in which the consultant explained the policy and review period. Your policy has been cancelled with immediate effect and a refund has been arranged for the premium that was deducted
We apologize for any inconvience caused and will gladly provide further feedback when the calls have been received
Please advise if there is anything else we can assist with
Kind Regards
