Platinum Life deducted monthly premiums without consent

These people kept calling me in connection with a free gift that one of my friends nominated me for, asking for info to deliver the gift. After all this they try to sell a policy to me, saying that they will send the policy for me to look over. They sent the policy and then without me signing anything I suddenly see debit orders going off from them. I am not interest in any additional insurance I already have insurance, I think it is highly ********* to just deduct premiums without signed consent. I would like a refund and this policy stopped.

Dear Tony,

I have received your complaint and I am busy investigating this matter.

You were contacted on the 9th of March 2020 regarding a policy with Platinum Life. As all our business is done telephonically, a verbal agreement is reached over the phone and you have a legal 30 day review period from receipt of documents to go through the policy. After this period, if no objections are made, the policy will start on the date confirmed by the consultant. I have requested these calls to ensure that the script was followed, a legal closure was done and the review period explained.

A cancellation has been logged and a consultant will be in touch within the week. All further debit orders have been stopped,

As soon as I have received these calls, I will gladly send it through with feedback. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can assist with in the meantime.

Kind Regards
