NOT PLATINUM SERVICE
In November 2017 I cancelled a policy that I had for many years because I was retiring and cannot afford the high premium anymore. On 30 March 2018 a consultant from Platinum phoned and told me that a percentage of the premiums will be paid back and would I consider a lower premium policy to which I rep**** that we cannot afford a policy. He persisted and said that it is a no obligation policy and that I had until May 2018 to decide. In May I phoned and advised them that I will not take the policy and at the same time asked when the refund of part of the premiums will take place. The reply was that the refund was transferred into the new policy and because it was cancelled all monies ave been forfeited. They are adamant that, that is how it works. I am grateful that I did not get sick to find out if they had some other way of not paying for that either. I just want people to be aware that "IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY". YOU REALLY ARE NOT IMPORTANT , and any way to get money out of you, irrespective of what they say when they are trying to sell you the policy, is what it is about. Watch out for glib, slick sales people, they are out to get you. DISGUSTED!
Dear Jan
I have received your review and would like to address the matter accordingly.
Our policies are pure risk and unfortunately there is no cash or surrender value. The money back benefit is an added extra on the policy, where you can get back 50% of all premiums paid on the maturity date, if the policy is still in force and claim free.
I have requested the reactivation call that was made to your wife in March 2018, whereby a new policy was offered and the money back benefit carried over. The sales department has to follow a very strict script when a reactivation was done, whereby the money back benefit is explained. If this was not adhered to, it will be taken up with our sales department and the consultant addressed. I will gladly send these calls and feedback through to you, as soon as it has been received.
If you have any further queries please feel free to contact me on ***.
