Not able to provide a cancellation letter over the phone when asked for one

I just phoned to cancel my policy with Platinum life and requested a confirmation letter to be provided. I was told to email them and asked why it can't be provided now as we speak. Response was that she is on the call center. When I asked to be transferred to someone who can provide it to me now, was insisted for an email to be sent for the cancellation letter. It is highly unprofessional not to be helped fully with all requests required.
