My journey with Platinum Life

I would like to share my experience that I had dealing with Platinum Life. during 2018, my husband Armien started to experience problems with his bowels. He became terribly constipated. Prior to that, I noticed that he was losing weight, We do not have medical aid so it was up and down to the local health care centre. After receiving medication on numerous occasions, with no relief, I suggested that he visit a private doctor in the area. After examining him, the doctor immediately referred him to the state hospital in our area. This was already February 2019. His blood was drawn and on receiving the results, he was informed by the doctor that the blood had indicated that he may have prostrate cancer but they were more concerned about what was going on in his colon. While trying to perform a colonoscopy ( 19 March 2019) they discovered that he had ****** cancer. They were not even looking at the possibility of prostrate cancer, for which we had a small cover from Platinum Life. He was referred to Tygerberg Hospital and an MRI was done,There it became apparent that he has prostrate cancer as well. A biopsy was done to confirm and to determine the stage. I contacted Platinum Life and was assisted to lodge a claim. Given the relevant information and forms. I was allocated a person who dealt with me whenever I had any queries, Her name is Mandelee Van Rooyen,. She was professional yet receptive and treated me with utmost respect, informing me as the claim was progressing. In exactly one month, as Mandelee said it take one month, I received a payout and thought, well that's it. I was very grateful that I had been recommended by a friend all those years ago. I cannot express what this meant to us, Because even though my husband is a state patient, there was other financial implications. My husband needed care products, he needed meal replacements and not to mention the trips up and down to the hospital while he was been treated. ( luckily my daughter assisted with the many trips to the hospital prior to treatment starting.) Armien took the diagnosis very well. He was always positive that he will get better. Sometimes it was an uphill battle, but Praise God, we overcame the hurdles. He is 70 years old and we know that death is a path we all must take. Not having to stress about money was also a great help. But let me get back to Platinum Life's service. After the pay out, I received a call from Leandi Schoonees. What a lovely person, as i have come to expect from Platinum Life consultants. She was genuinely interested to know how we were coping. She surprised Armien with a lovely present of a personal nature. And it was so apt because he had recently turned 70 years old at the time. Leandi contacted me again a few days ago to enquire about Armien and was so pleased to hear how well he is doing ( and with another pleasant surprise) I cannot express the gratitude that I feel to be part of the Platinum Life Family, because that what it feels like to me.) I can call them at anytime to express my concerns regarding my policy, and I do, especially when I feel that I may not be able to afford the premiums. They find a suitable solution ensuring that you remain covered to be able to receive some money when you need it most. I want to thank Platinum Life, Mandelee, Leandi and all the other consultants who contact me from time to time regarding my policy. ( They always spoil me with a much welcomed gifts as well.
