I was diagnosed with breast cancer end of January 2025
I was diagnosed with breast cancer end of January 2025. My claim was rejected because I had a FNA January 2022. My commencement date on my contract was 01 March 2023, diagnosed 31 January 2025. Terms and conditions state that if you had any investigations done 2 years prior to your commencement date and diagnosed within the 2 years after your commencement date, will not qualify as a valid claim. Being on treatment is a lot of extra expenses and they advertise that it is the reason why this cover is important. Please read the fine print, they made me feel that I only took out this policy because of the money. Having to deal with the diagnosis is already a struggle and the news of the rejected claim made me depressed. I feel that they could at least have better criteria, they do not have to at you the full amount you are covered for, even a 25% of your covered amount will make a difference in these situations.
