Forced Upgrade.... I hope not
So i received a telephone call from Platinum Life on Tuesday evening around 1720 as I was going home, gentleman by the name of Siyabonga. Long story short Platinum was offering me an upgrade on my policy that obviously meant an increase in premiums. The gentleman in question promised to send everything in black and white before I committed to the upgrade, he confirmed my email address and date of birth etc etc. Two days later I have still not received the promised email. Further he had indicated during the telephone call that when he sends the email and if i am happy with the contents contained therein there will be no need for me to contact Platinum and the Debit order will start running on the 31st of May. However, should i have a problem then i can simply call Platinum and decline the offer. It is now two days into the 31 day period in which i have to review the offer of Platinum and i have not received the email. By posting on HelloPeter I do not expect Platinum Life to effect a premium increase and I do not expect them to upgrade my policy in any way as I have not agreed to anything. If anything I think I shall be cancelling my policy with Platinum as this is surely a ****. I further asked the gentleman who phoned me what would happen on my Policy anniversary date if i take the upgrade offer as i do not expect two increases so close to the other.
