false advertising of free gift
I have the same experience Bradwin had on the 16/11/2023 today. I received a call from a consultant telling me about a gift that is going to be sent to me and an sms she is going to send me to choose which gift i want. I then told her someone called me last week and when i refused to give my bank details she got upset. Why must i give my bank details if its a free gift? I then never ever received the sms for the free gift. Today, basically the same. so why is Platinum life's consultants telling you at the beginning of the call about a free gift but don't tell you that if you don't give your banking details you won't receive it? Then they also don't ask if you have a moment to talk, they just carry on speaking and expect you to listen. So today, as last week, I never received any sms for the free gift that Platinum Life is advertising when they call. Do you really think a bottle of perfume to the value of R600 is going to make me give my bank details? I'm sorry but the perfumes I use don't cost under R2500 so a R600 bottle doesn't mean anything to me.
I am so sorry to hear about the experience you had.
I am following up regarding the call made to you today, but I can see that you were nominated for a promotional gift in August and a SMS was sent through to you in September. I apologize if you did not receive it and will arrange for it to be resent
Our policies are optional and you would have been contacted by our sales team today and offered a policy with Platinum Life. The bank details are captured if you are interested in the policy in order for it to be activated for you - it is not requested for the gift.
Please use the voucher that was sent, as you were called for the gift but I will ensure that no policy is issued out to you.
You are welcome to contact me if there is anything I can assist with and my apologies again for any inconvenience caused
