Dubious business practice.

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Platinum Life offering me an accidental death benefit to be added to my policy held with the company. Despite informing the agent I was not interested she persisted and eventually I agreed to look over the policy.

I informed her on more than one occasion that I will be out of the country and she responded that the policy document will be emailed to me. I am now in Kenya and my Mother in law informs me that the document was delivered by mail. I have not seen an email. I made it very clear that I will not be able to look over the printed document and she repeatedly confirmed that the policy will be emailed.

The issue here is that should you not respond to the policy document that was sent the policy automatically activates and your account will be debited.

I do not wish to take up this offer for the policy and I kindly request that your company do not contact me for any offers in the future.

I am also not happy with the way the consultants trick you into talking to them, the conversation starts with " I am just calling to confirm that all your details on the system is still correct" and then very quickly turns into a sales pitch.
