Deceptive marketing

I received a message from Platinum Life stating: "Good day, I’ve been unable to reach you. I want to spoil you with an exclusive R1,000 Isabella Garcia voucher and enter you into a R50,000 cash draw! Please expect a quick call from me. Alternatively, please let me know a convenient time to call you. Regards, Mpho, Platinum Life."

At first glance, this message appears to be a genuine and generous offer. However, upon answering the call I was informed that in order to receive the so called spoil "gift," I would need to provide 50 to 100 people's contact numbers — a completely undisclosed condition in the initial message.

This tactic is not only misleading but borders on deceptive advertising. It suggests a reward with no mention of strings attached only to later reveal a highly invasive and unreasonable requirement. In my opinion, this is a dishonest and manipulative approach to gathering personal data.

To make matters worse, Platinum Life proceeded to call me repeatedly even after I did not respond. This level of persistence feels invasive and unnecessary.

Platinum Life, you should be ashamed of these practices. Luring people with false promises and pressuring them into rewards for details is *********. I urge others to be cautious when dealing with offers from this company.
