********* data collection behavior, not compliant with POPI Act

Guy called me in the morning telling me about a free gift after a supposed friend provided my details during which I asked for my personal data to be disposed of. Then got a second call later by a woman from Platinum Life when I had declined the first approach for 'consent' (I'm using this lightly because they collected information about me without my consent before the first call). Then the woman couldn't even tell me who the Information Officer is (in fact she didn't even know it was a thing — great job to whoever trained her).

Even when they collected my data at first without my consent, they didn't even give me notice as required by the POPI Act.

I could never recommend an insurance company who are ********* at their core. This promotional gift thing is not POPI aligned and I intend to report this to the Information Regulator.
