Bullying customers into signing up

I was called a few weeks back and the guy told me I would receive a gift voucher if I opted in for a Platinum Life consultant to contact me. I did that, and received the voucher. After listening to the consultant I declined to sign up for the offer after which he told me that the process cannot be stopped. The policy had to be initiated, after which I would have 31 days to cancel it. This is very upsetting, since at no time did I confirm that I wanted the policy. He then proceeded to ask my bank details, which I declined to give to him. He then tried to convince me that since he already had my address and ID nr, that he could make 'my life difficult'. At this point, it was clear that he could not finish the application without my bank details, so I requested that he never contact me again and hung up.

This kind of behavior is blatant bullying. I think Platinum Life should be ashamed that their representatives try to force customers into any kind of agreement. Because of the way I was treated, I'll never consider a product of Platinum Life.

I have received your complaint and I am sorry to hear about the experience you had.

Our policies are always optional and we never want you to feel bul**** or pressured into taking the cover. I have requested the calls from our sales team and will provide further feedback as soon as it has been received

You are welcome to contact me if there is something I can assist with while we are awaiting this
