Be cautious about Platinum Life
I received an SMS saying that a friend of mine has chose a promotional gift for me and will receive a quick call from Platinum Life. I then received a phone call from Platinum Life asking for my personal details (ID, address, type of bank and account I'm using). I didn't want my home address to be known, so I used my postal address, however, the lady on the other line kept saying that she needs a person to sign the receipt upon courier delivery. I didn't want to give my ID number either, but she said to give my date of birth for reference purposes for the courier. It also makes no sense to state the type of bank and the account type I am using if this is a promotional gift. I read up on several reviews saying how some people got money taken out of their bank and how others didn't receive the so-called gift. I am very upset and concerned about this matter and would like all my details and information about myself removed immediately.
I have received your review and would like to provide some feedback regarding this matter
You were nominated by a friend or family member for a promotional gift. As our gifts can vary from gift vouchers to physical products from our sister companies, a physical address is requested as the courier company would need a signature to deliver (we can't send the gifts via post as we are unable to track it).
Your ID number is asked, as it is a unique number and can be used to track the gift and ensure that no duplicates are sent out. A date of birth can be requested if you are uncomfortable providing that information
lastly, as part of the gift, we also send out a guide on efficient banking and how to save using the account you currently have. To ensure that you received only information that is relevant to you, the consultant will ask type of account and bank. No bank details are requested as this is not a policy but a promotional gift. The gift is obligation and cost free
A policy can only be issued out in your name, if you are contacted for a policy, provide all your details and consent to taking out a policy with us. Money can and will not be taken if these conditions are not met.
I have asked for your details to be removed and nothing will be sent out to you as requested
Kind Regards
