No maintenance at Platinum Heights, bullying management
I have been a paying tenant at Platinum Heights for about 18 months, consistently settling my rent (R7,560/month) on time. Yet, I’ve experienced months of unresolved issues and deeply unprofessional treatment by management.
A severe plumbing issue led to flooding in my kitchen. After repeated reports and no timely action, I was forced to call my own plumber to stop the mess — I had no choice. Despite providing proof of the costs incurred and explaining the urgency, management offered a laughable R330 “goodwill” credit against R1,100 in expenses and accused me of acting without permission — completely ignoring the reality of their inaction and my consistent attempts to follow protocol.
Even worse, a mould problem reported in April remains unresolved to this day. One superficial attempt was made, but no proper treatment was done. I work from home, and this ongoing exposure is unacceptable and a potential health risk. Suggestions such as “just open a window” during winter are not only impractical but insulting.
I’ve asked multiple times for escalation contacts to raise these matters with senior leadership or directors, and those requests have been ignored — creating a sense of deliberate obstruction.
What’s most disappointing is the attitude taken toward me: implying I’ve ****, “threatened” (for simply asserting my right to escalate), and generally treating me like a nuisance instead of a tenant. Communication is evasive, dismissive, and designed to shift blame.
This is not about money — it’s about the principle of fair treatment, safe living conditions, and accountability. I do not recommend Platinum Heights or their managing agents to any prospective tenant or buyer who expects a basic level of responsibility and service.
