CHARGES YOU FOR ACCIDENTAL BREAKAGE PACKED BADLY

I will never go back to this store.Was looking around for lever arch plastic holders. Couldn't find anything. Noticed some plastic brochure holders on a shelf higher than my eye level.Took one down to have a look if it would work for what we needed. Decided it would not and put it back up. It was a roundish shelf packed to capacity with the brochure holders which were made of a thin clear plastic.As I turned to walk away, the brochure holder fell down and broke.The staff arrived and the manager/owner with a 'Bulgarian' accent asked me if I broke it. He was really intimidating.I told him that I had by accident.We found something else we wanted, an item way more expensive than the brochure holder. When I arrived at the till they rang up the broken holder at R120! So I paid for the brochure holder and left! I don't feel I should have been charged at all, it was an accident and the holders were packed badly. Most stores won't charge you for breakages unless you break something purposefully. At the very least, he could have charged me the cost price which could not be more than R10! Never ever again, not worth the risk. Imagine if the entire shelf of brochure holders had fallen down!
