Terminate of contract,

I have bought a car within 5 months the car is broken down and poeple advice me to terminate the contract so I just want to know if I m allowed to terminate the contract and return the car because I have only paid for 5months .even in the contract it's stated that you can return or terminate the contract if you have paid for less than 6 months.
