I had sent out an application to Planet42 to rent a car for a period of 6 months, in January 2024, I received a vehicle that over heated and eventually blew a gasket, I informed them and mind you I was on my way back from Rustenburg for work, I was stuck at night and was only assisted around 11pm.

They took the car in to be fixed strange enough it came back with the same issue. They then changed the vehicle to another if not worse car. It had engine problems from the word go.

I had to send that one back and they suggested I take it in to a registered repair shop. I took it to menlyn car clinic and they had to get permission to strip the engine to confirm what the problem is, again I'm sitting without a car, they further stated that the car had been sent in for the same issue i had with it.

I was offered another vehicle BMW 320I, it was a bit old but I liked it and then AGAIN!On my way home from Planet42-Menlyn, the car also blew a gasket.

They were closed and had to call the rep that assisted me with her husband and also had to drop me off at home.

I later told them that I'm not interested in their faulty cars and they made it clear that if I cancel the contract I will be charged a cancellation fee. So it was best for me to continue with my 6 month rental agreement. I did just that, I eventually got a Toyota aygo, and when my 6 month was almost up, I contacted Planet42 to inform them that I will not be continuing with the contract or option to purchase it. I didn't receive any confirmation of them receiving my email, so I called the office and the lady I spoke to said it was fine and she will arrange for the car to be collected.

Well to my surprise after the car was collected I receive an email from Planet42 that I'm owing a cancellation fee for the remainder of the contract period.

And now being sent emails that I have to make a payment of R40000+. I am not paying foe something that I don't have and a contract that I specifically confirmed that it's only for 6 months based on all rhe trouble I had with getting a car that actually drives.

They are trying to rip me off for their bad, actually their terrible service from January 2024 - Sept 2024. No way.

I've previously logged a complained with hello.peter and I hadn't heard what the resolution was.
