Return policy failure!

I am new to gel nails, I've never had them before. I went to planet nails in Somerset West and told the sales lady that I needed all the necessary things to get started. I bought the lamp and Top/base coat and a number of other items. Went home and did my nails. Second time I did them there were little solid items in the base/top coat. I had also bought a UV glaze and on returning home saw that I had chosen the one with gold glitter in it. I went back to planet nails, 2 days later, to be told that they do not do exchanges or returns and wouldn't give me the clear UV glaze. When I explained my situation with the top/base coat the sales lady phoned the manager and let me talk to her. She explained that it must be because I put the bottle too close to the lamp. I asked how one is expected to know not to do that with nothing indicating that this may happen on the bottle of the top/base coat or on the lamp. She refused to help me at all, would not let me exchange the glaze or accept any responsibility for the damage to my base/top coat. These products are expensive and with better service and instruction to start with this would never have happened.
