DO NOT even consider Planet Nails as a Supplier

On 1 June 2019 I purchased a Planet Gel Polish & Instructions kit from Planet Nails in Goodwood. I left for JHB on 3 June and only returned late on Wednesday 5 June.

I only opened kit on 9 June to do my own nails. I followed the steps and app**** the top coat included in the set, but it would not cure under the 36w LED/UV light. – this was the only top coat in the kit.

Yesterday 12 June 2019 I went back to Planet Nails in Goodwood to return the top coat to them as I was under the impression that it might be old stock or something as it did not cure under the lamp. However, when I got there the shop assistant informed me that that specific Top Coat was the normal top coat and not the Gel Top Coat. The shop assistant then proceeded to take another kit from the shelf, opened it from the bottom of the box as to not damage the seal on the lid, and showed me what the contents of the box should be i.e. a gel polish, base, top coat and colour, top coat, cuticle oil and sticky base.

I then informed the salesperson that there was no gel polish top coat in my kit only the normal top coat which I had brought in to the shop to return. The shop assistant then phoned the owner and informed her of my issue, but they decided that I must be lying and I was then publicly made out to be a **** in sight of all the other customers in the shop. They apparently had not had one previous instance of a missing item from a kit. I was extremely embarrassed to be made out as a **** and when I told the sales person that if that is how they treat customers, I will not do business with Planet Nails again she told me that she was very happy that I would not do business with Planet Nails again.

If the shop assistant could so easily open another kit from the shelf without damaging the seal it is very possible that they had opened the kit I purchased beforehand in a similar way and neglected to replace all items.

I don’t anticipate that anything will come of this complaint, but I will strongly discourage anyone from dealing with Planet Nails.
