Why you should NOT join Planet Fitness

<p>ATTENTION: WHY YOU SHOULD NOT SIGN UP AT PLANET FITNESS- ESPECIALLY THE ROODEPOORT BRANCH!!!</p> <p>I was met by a gentleman named Zeeth to hear all "the benefits" Planet Fitness has to offer. Zeeth knows just want to say to any customer to get you to sign a contact. However, once your contact is signed you get treated like dirt under their shoes. To get me to sign this contract Zeeth **** to me and told me that "there is only one more of these special student offers available and will be gone by tomorrow" also that if I joined today I would get the current month January 2017) off - meaning free right? This deal sounded perfect! Except for the fact that this deal is still being given out to students and that I was in fact charge for that current month (January 2017) - which I was distinctly told I would not be??? After signing the contract I left with a smile on my face thinking I was getting such a great deal.</p> <p>A week later Zeeth discovered that he gave me this a student contract without asking me for my student card or proof that I was in fact a student. He then harrassed me and my 'emergancy' contact (dad) with calls and messages telling us that I better provide my student card or else I will be charged with the normal rate of R599 a month instead of R199. I sent my student card to him twice via email and 4 times via messenger. Not sure why I have to run around after someone who clearly cannot do their job. Just to be told it's not good enough and they need more proof that I'm a student.</p> <p>Talking of R199 a month- planet fitness has advertised this to the death. "Get a contract for just R199 per month", you would assume you pay that amount once a month for the duration of your contact. You would be wrong! I was told by Zeeth that this amount is only for 3 months and from then on its R390 + -. However, on their website it clearly stipulates that you will in fact get this R199 deal for 6 months and then the next 6 months of your contact will be R390+-</p> <p>I chose to speak to their CGM - club general manager, who heard what I had to say and agreed that it was ********* and wrong for me to be treated this way. He assured me that he would get to the bottom of it and get back to me. It's now 5 months later and I'm still waiting?</p> <p>I recently (20 January 2017) asked Zeeth for a copy of my contract to be sent to me via email. I have asked him everyday for the past week for it to be sent, much to my 'surprise' it has still NOT been sent. Zeeth has no excuses, just that he in *********** and can't do his job.</p> <p>Planet Fitness Roodepoort I am extremely disappointed, disgusted and frustrated at the level of service I have received and the wasted hours I have spent trying to do your employees work for them. I will not stand around and allow this to happen to me or anyone else.</p> <p>Please share my story because I sure as heck would have appreciated reading something like this before signing up with Planet Fitness.</p>
