Vitality Membership, but full price has to be paid!

I joined Planet Fitness with a Vitality membership linked. Due to financial constraints I had to cancel my Vitality and then went back to paying the full price towards Planet Fitness. Since then, I reactivated my Vitality as it did not make sense to pay R990 for a gym membership. Now, when end of the month comes, Planet Fitness state they will still be deducting the R990 because 'I did not go into the branch to reactivate my membership'. When was this communicated to me? Surely you cannot debit monies from client's funds if there is a contract to adhere to. I will be reversing this R990 this month. There is no way that I will pay the full amount if I am on Vitality.
