Urgent Complaint – Unauthorized Contract and Debit Orders by Planet Fitness

We have had endless problems with Planet Fitness, and it’s clear from the internet that we are not the only ones. We have repeatedly asked Planet Fitness Potchefstroom to assist us with cancelling a gym contract that was opened without my daughter’s consent by a consultant named Vivian.

My daughter told him she would first need to ask her mother before proceeding. I said no, because her older sister already had a contract, and my younger daughter could simply obtain a tag, which is far cheaper than paying for two contracts. Despite this, Vivian went ahead and opened a contract and created unauthorized debit orders on her banking account.

It appears he did this to many other victims and was eventually fired. However, we are still left with the problem: Planet Fitness continues to charge my daughter irregular amounts and refuses to cancel or block this ******* debit order. Although the bank has refunded her so far, she has been harassed for three months, which led us to cancel the account.

Even after cancellation, she is still being harassed with messages demanding payment and warning notices. We want this to stop completely, but Planet Fitness has been utterly unhelpful. Based on this experience, I can confidently say I will never recommend Planet Fitness to anyone.
