Unfair treatment from Manager Gert at Planet Fitness mall@55

We were racially profiled and verbally attacked by the manager, Gert, of Planet Fitness Heuweloord, Centurion last night. Gert summoned us to his office 10 - 15 minutes after we arrived at gym last night. He told us that my kids are not allowed at gym and that we are in breach of contract. When I told him that I feel that my family and I are being racially profiled and that we were not aware of that rule, and that if that was a rule, it was never enforced. Gert ground his teeth as I spoke, clenched his jaw, stood with his feet shoulder width apart, put his hands in his pockets and as he towered over me, he aggressively accused me of being a ****** and told me that I was wrong. I told him that I have every right to express to him how I feel based on the unfair treatment that we received at the gym, from him. The reason for Gert summoning us to his office was to tell us that we are in breach of contract for allowing our eight and ten year old children into the gym. We joined the gym just over a month ago and we attend every day. Our kids accompany us most days. The staff is always very friendly at reception and always instruct the kids to go under the turnstiles whilst they swipe our tags. There are always other children at gym. I see them playing on the equipment. I however, do not allow my children to go near the equipment. We pack activities for them to do, like paper and crayons, cards, and mobile devices to use with the free Wi-Fi. They love playing games on my phone whilst I work out. It is the only time that I allow my son to play on my phone, so he looks forward to it. I believe that this is racial profiling from Gert due to the following fact: Gert is a white man, we are a coloured family. There was a little white girl playing on the gym equipment the night before. Where was Gert then? Why did he not "kick" that family out, or reprimand them for being in breach of contract? Why us?

The contract breach that Gert referred to was not handled in a professional and respectful manner. We were summoned to his office as we were about to start our workout. He never once invited us to sit down and talk about the manner amiably. His aggressive approach and personal attack on my character and insulting and abusive language does not sit well with me. Gert told me that I was rude and crass and that he reprimanded a black family earlier that day and (she) did not talk to him the way that I did. The rule of "no kids at gym" has not been unilaterally enforced. We were picked out of a crowd of people and I therefore feel that we were racially profiled. The rule of no kids allowed can not only be enforced on a single family. What about the other kids in the gym, who are on the equipment? What about the other families? Why us? Why last night, after a month of joining the gym? Gert also said that by us questioning him about his approach and lack of facts, we are "making it easy for him to kick us out of "his" gym". At which point I called my kids, they packed up their playing cards and we left the Mall@55 Planet Fitness. I am humiliated, I feel violated and abused by Gert Roodt of Planet Fitness at mall@55. I have suffered loss and I am disappointed. I went to gym to relieve stress, get fit and lose weight. Gert has destroyed any good that I associate with mall@55 Planet Fitness. He is a true bully!
