*****ulent contracts opened under my name by Planet Fitness

I signed a contract with planet fitness on the 20th of August 2021. I was told I will be able to freeze the membership when I need to because I mentioned I will be moving for a while to a place that does not have a planet fitness.

Before that could even happen. I tore my ACL and couldn’t walk unassisted (crutches) for months. I called to freeze my membership and was told if i freeze it for 3 months I will have to pay half the fee and then add the three months to my original membership where I will now be paying the full installment. This meant essentially adding 3 months where I freely give away half my installment so I opted not to freeze it.

As if that was not enough, I waited for my membership to end and after 2 years, it was finally going to end. I called to cancel my membership when it ends so it does not go into that month to month basis **** they pull. Then I am told I have multiple contracts under my profile. 1. Opened on the 20th May 2023 which did not have my signature. 2. Opened on 20 August 2023 (This is my original one that I know) 3. Opened on 23 August 2021 (Again, this one does not have my signature).

We battles to sort this out as it appeared they have been *****ulently loading contracts that I knew nothing about.

Now finally its sorted and I am told my membership will be cancelled 31 August 2023. Whew! But wait. I get debited in September and when I call to enquire we are back to square one and now there’s even another contract that I knew nothing about. One opened on 23 November 2021 which means I was still bound to them.

Ask me how this is even possible? I am told that the Sanlam activation on my membership promoted a new contract and its not their business if their consultant did not clarify this with me. This is after months and confirmation that the only legit contract I had with them ended 31 August 2023. I have receipts.

I am positive that they pulled another **** to have me staying longer in the membership.
