*****ulent and misleading Sales Agent's at Planet Fitness Umhlanga

I recently signed up with Planet Fitness, who offered me a gym membership fee of R499, but assured me that because of my medical aid membership, it would amount to only R150 (a 75% discount). My sales person made it clear that there would be no joining or activation fee. At that time, I was an existing member to another gym, but due to his proposal, I canceled my contract and joined Planet Fitness. After being persuaded to sign the contract, I was informed that the fees offered to me were false. I was advised to reach out to the Sales Manager for further assistance. Despite my persistent attempts to resolve this matter, I was disappointed to discover that the manager was unavailable on numerous occasions when I visited the gym. I then was assisted by another sales person who made me an offer of R199, persuading me to cancel the existing contract and resigning up with no activation fee. I asked for the contact information for the manager and was given an email address. I sent through an email and was contacted by the Sales Manager who was arrogant and gave me one of two options : one being I agreed to pay R350 a month, where I’ll be compensated with two free months because of the sales agents *****ulent activity. And two being, I cancel the contact with Planet Fitness and no longer attend the gym (he made it clear that he didn’t mind losing me as a client). I was unhappy with the offer I received as it exceeded the amount I was paying at my previous gym. The offers I received are not being met by Planet Fitness. I do have a voice recording of the offer I signed for which includes the sales agent offering me a “bribe” amount which I’d have to pay him privately so that there would be no activation fee. After listening to the voice recording, the sales manager still insists that there is nothing he can do - I either sign for an amount which I did not agree on or I cancel. The unprofessional and ********* behaviour really has *****ed my view of the company as a whole. The Sales manager at Planet Fitness Umhlanga is arrogant and has no respect for members of the gym. After overhearing conversations while waiting in the gym, I know I am not the only person that has fallen for the underhanded tricks the sales agents use to persuade people to sign the contract. Planet Fitness Umhlanga really overpromised and under delivered!
