Tricking ppl to pay more
Just before my contract was due to expire in June 2012 I received a letter in the post asking me to cancel my contract via email. I did so, and received an automated response. Next month money was taken from my acct. I called the bank & asked they return the money. I then called the gym and they asked that I send my cancellation email on to them. After a few weeks of nothing I called into the gym twice in a week to get it sorted with printed emails They agreed that my contract would be cancelled. a few months later, , They took another month, I called the bank & cancelled my debit order.
I then called the accounts department and to my astonishment they told me that the automated response indicated that I need to personally go into the gym to cancel. This is true, But who reads an automated response. I questioned why you would take the time to send a letter to tell me to email, when the letter should have said to go in. I put it to them that it was just a **** to get extra months from their clients and that I would not be paying. Its a ****.
I then get a call from a debt collection agency today, 2.5 years after the fact. These *********** ppl dropped 7 calls today. Usless.
