The mess at Planet Fitness

Only now do I see the multiple complaints against Planet fitness, I should have come check here before Signing up to avoid stress. I had a 1 year contract last year 2024 with Planet fitness, I decided to call in and cancel before the contract ended but I knew I would need to serve the remaining months, this was in October. After calling in, I got a phone call saying they wanted to give me 50% of what I had to pay for 2 months so I didn't have to pay the full amount and we should chat again this year in Jan to see how to keep me, I said sure. NO ONE AT THAT POINT TOLD ME THAT, ME SAYING YES TO 50% off MY MONTHLY PAYMENT MEANT THAT I WAS REVERTING MY CANCELLATION. Fast forward in Jan, I reach out and we agree that I am leaving the gym. That is when they tell me I have to give 1 month notice, but I called in October to give notice, no because you allowed to take the 50 % off but on that call recording wasn't told taking the 50 % off means I am no longer cancelling. So they are using this to chase me for extra money despite completing my 12 months contract. Then also, that 50% off that was offered to me , they claim to have take R499.50 but my bank statement is showing that they took 649.50. It is one big mess.
