Terrible service from the gym “****mers”

I was ****med by Planetfitness Greenstone. The whole deal was blanketed in flowers and roses. The dominant reason why I signed up for membership was the buddy value proposition which positioned in a way that the buddy is allowed to visit the gym without my presence, low and behold, my buddy was blocked from entering the gym premises without my presence. This was really embarrassing for my buddy because he was interrogated in front other gym members as if he was a *****. This to me spoke to poor customer experience and treatment, at least the staff member could have called my buddy into an office. This also spoke to the misrepresentation of the value proposition for purposes of product take up and possibly, commission. Product misrepresentation is against the CPA and TCF, and misrepresentation is tantamount to *****. Based on this, I requested a cancellation and I was told that I will need to pay a cancellation fee. This came as a surprise to me because I was still waiting for a response about my complaint that I logged with them but yet, cancellation fees were paramount to them without even having attended to my complaint. To add salt to the wound, I was told to also pay for a gym levy fee which was never explained to me. I’ve honoured every monthly gym fee ever since I signed up without fail. How is it fair to pay for something that was falsely marketed to me. How is that even right! This misrepresentation seems to be a trend based on the complaints I’ve reviewed. Very poor customer experience and services.
