Students cannot afford memberships

I went for an enquiry at Planet Fitness Vanderbijlpark few months ago, I got there a guy called Lee explained some of the things then all of a sudden he calls his friend, then they both pressured me to sign up right there, told them I'm a student won't be able to afford but they convinced me that can make a plan and pay. I paid the R150 for activation fee, didn't get a tag resulting in never going to the gym. Until this day I don't know how long my contract is. The sales man don't really listen to what we as students tell them, they only want to sign more people and students can't really afford memberships. Then they lie about being able to cancel without explaining about the extra fee you have to pay. I'm not the only student complaining about this company.
