Stressed member

I have a membership with planet fitness and recently i phoned to tell them about me loosing my job and that i would appreciate it if they froze my membership until i can find another job. I was told that they can freeze the account but i still have to pay R125 monthly or i can cancel by paying R1500 and something, I don't have both of these amounts as i do not work anymore. I was paying them monthly as agreed until i lost my job. All i was asking from them was to freeze till further notice but nobody seems to understand that i am unemployment, i can't even afford rent so i don't know how i am supposed to afford the amounts they want me to pay. Is it not unfair that i will be blacklisted because i am unemployed because every time they try to debit the money there is nothing there which means the account is in arrears since i can't afford the amounts they want. What is a person supposed to do in this case? Please help
