STEP CHILDREN NOT ALLOWED ON MY MEMBERSHIP
Dear Planet Fitness George, #planetfitnessza I unfortunately have to reach out to you via social media because you refuse to get back to me. I signed a 2 year contract with you earlier this year under the premise that my partner could enter the club as a 'buddy' and my step children were also allowed access under my membership. The sales consultant explained these benefits and I clearly stated the children were step children living with me full time. When it came to adding the children to the system there was a problem as their surnames were not the same as mine, I spoke to the manager and he apologised for any miscommunication by the sales consultant who conveniently had left his job a few weeks before and explained that the kids need the same surname is me, or a letter stating that there biological dad had relinquished his guardianship rights to me. That is not reasonable in my opinion. I proposed a second option, that they transfer the membership to my partner as she has the same surname as the kids and then I would then become the 'Buddy' and all would be in alignment with their rules. They declined my suggestion and said it was not possible. The reason I took this contract was because the benefits sold to me under my membership made financial sense, without these benefits it does not. I find it very disappointing in this day and age that there are such archaic rules with regards to co-parenting families and when I propose a different solution which would not lose them any money by switching the membership to my partner they refuse to even entertain the idea. Please contact me and re-consider.
